Hesperia Investment Group (also known as GIHSA) has announced the acquisition of the La Manga Club residential and sports resort

Hesperia Investment Group (also known as GIHSA) has announced the acquisition of the La Manga Club residential and sports resort, in a move that could further improve the complex and its facilities.

Covering 560 hectares and including a 5-star hotel, 200 apartments and over 15 bars and restaurants alongside its three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and 8 FIFA-size football pitches, the resort is one of the best-regarded across Europe for its leisure, residential and sports facilities. Whilst Arum Group will continue to run operations for the real estate business, GIHSA plans to invest and improve the complex in order to make it the premier sports and leisure resort across Southern Europe.

Arum Group CEO Jesus Abellan commented: "Hesperia is the optimal partner to continue with this expansion project as this deal strengthens not only the resort's further extension but also the development of the whole area, with huge potential for residential tourism growth."

Whilst no details on specific improvements have been made available, it's of great comfort to hear of GIHSA's aims to further strengthen the excellent services that La Manga Club already has to offer. Given that it has already played host to Davis Cup tennis matches, ATP Tournaments and some of the world's biggest and best football teams alongside its first-class leisure facilities (including 200 four-star apartments), any further investment in the resort can only be viewed as a positive thing for the Murcia region as a whole, offering further exposure to what the resort and the area as a whole have to offer.
